Stroud Journal 23 March 1928

Mr Tom Langham of Bintry Horns Road, Stroud was a member of the Stroud Council from October 1923 to April 1925 and for 4 ½ years was a member of the Stroud Old Age Pensions Committee. He was the first secretary of the League of Nations Union in Stroud and is still on the executive committee. He is a deacon of the John Street Baptist Church, president of the Stroud Trades Council and Labour Party, and district secretary of the National Union of Textile Workers and a member of the Joint Industrial Council of the Textile Trade.

Tom Langham who later became Chairman of the Council in the mid 1930's was unsuccessful on this occassion.
