STUART Leiut-Col Donald

In 1928 Stuart stood for election to the Urban District Council

23 March 1928 Stroud Journal published a pen portrait (including photo) of all 27 candidates.

Leiut.-Col. Donald Forbes Stuart of Upfield, Stroud is a retired Indian Army officer and was first elected to the Council three years ago. He has voiced his opinion on many important matters which have been discussed by the Council, and has been particularly active in safeguarding the interests of the Paganhill section of the district. He has rendered good service in connection with the water supply for that part of the town. He is one of the ten members of the “group”.

He was elected 14 of the 18 members
